ACTIVITIES AT BRANDBERG WHITE LADY LODGE

The most popular activities done in the area is the hike to the White Lady Paintings and the Dessert Elephant Drive.
 
White Lady Panting (self-drive to the entrance)
The hike to the white lady painting starts at the foot of Brandberg Mountain (end of D2359). The entrance is 16km from the lodge. At the entrance you will find an office where you pay for the permit and get a guide who will accompany you on the hike. They are operating between 8am and the last tour goes in at 4:30pm. The cost is N$60.00pp and N$20.00 per vehicle. The hike takes about an hour and a half to two hours to complete.
 
Dessert Elephant Drive
The dessert elephants are roaming the Ugab River between June/July to Nov/Dec. Their visit to this area is seasonal and all depends on the rainy season. The rest of the year (summer time or when the country gets rainfall) they move further north and out of the rivers into farm lands. Thus our drives also depend on the time of year and if the elephants are in the area.

The drive departs at 8am or again at 2pm in wintertime, in summer time the afternoon drive moves to 4pm. The cost for the drive is N$550.00pp, children under 10 N$450.00pp and scenic drive N$495.00pp. Drives can take between 2 to 3 hours. Sightings cannot be guaranteed but you will be informed of your chances on the day you arrive.

Please note that the red colours you get in the photos only can be seen on the Western Side of the mountain at sunset. The same effect is however visible in the early mornings at sunrise.
 
Hiking
Free hiking is possible in the area. There are no set trails, but guests are welcome to explore the area by foot, following roads around the lodge.
 
Sunset/Scenic Drive
The drive departs an hour and a half before sunset. Guests are taken on a scenic nature drive in the area before stopping at the perfect spot for a sundowner. The cost is N$250.00pp and scenic drive N$ 400.00pp.

Please note that the red colours you get in the photos only can be seen on the Western Side of the mountain at sunset. The same effect is however visible in the early mornings at sunrise.


DIRECTIONS TO BRANDBERG WHITE LADY LODGE

Brandberg White Lady Lodge is situated on the northern side of the Brandberg Mountain. From the C35, Uis-to-Korixas section, take the D2359 towards the "White Lady" and follow the signboards "Brandberg White Lady Lodge" for 27km.
